Loading & transportation rail car MPT-4 The rail car is designed for: - Loading, unloading and carrying of cargoes on own platform;
- Carrying of cargoes on hooked-on platforms;
- Transportation of long-size carloads including rails 25 m long on own and on hooked-on platforms;
- Carrying of work teams to work sites;
- Maneuvering operations on station rail tracks;
- Welding operations in field conditions;
- Snow removal off the railroads;
- Electric power supply 380/220V, 50Hz for power consumers;
- Air supply 8 atm for consumers;
- Use as a head machine in the train complex for current maintenance of rail track.
The Rail Car is a power feed double-axle vehicle. On a front console there is a bearing cabin with a load lifting crane. On the rear console under the hood a power engine (diesel engine YAMZ-238B-14) is to convey the power via the V-belt drive to a three-phase generator, and through the hydraulic drive and Cardan gear to the axial reducers of wheel pairs and air -compressor.
